Disc

Had a great time this morning shooting disc golf at the Condon Park course in Grass Valley. Long tight holes with lots of trees and Manzanita. High level of difficulty, beautiful course – one of the best in the state from what I hear.

Chuck and Jen’s

Made it! Just a short drive from Oroville to Nevada City.

Luxury

The casino here offers luxury shuttle service, right from your RV to the front door of the casino!

Moving Eve

Nice dinner with Ken & Becky last night, they came over to our little RV site – pleasant weather for an outdoor meal. Cruised into Chico today for supplies; Costco, Trader Joe’s, and 99 Cent Only store. Today we are organizing, cleaning, getting ready to head out to Nevada City tomorrow to spend some time with our friend’s Chuck & Jen. One last Oroville party tonight – free live music in the Riverbend Park, Susan’s cousin Sylvia may join us. So far we are keeping on budget and have had no major setbacks!

Car Show

Fun car show at the casino:

Feather Falls

Checked in yesterday at Feather Falls Casino KOA – nice little park near Oroville. Staying here for 5 nights. Beautiful pool, hot tub, and the grounds are very nice. Off to see our friends Chuck and Jen up in Nevada City on Friday.

Lake

Awesome afternoon of boating on Lake Oroville with Susan’s cousin Sylvia – fun little pontoon boat. All sorts of swimming, eating, drinking, floating, fishing etc. – beautiful summer afternoon. Star stayed at Aunt Becky’s place.

Lazy days…..

Nice visiting with my sister and bro in law. Lots of great food and much laughter. Got a refresher course in tortilla making from my Aunt Mary, look out I’m on a “roll”! Off to see Oroville Dam today. S

Disc Golf

Wow – not only is there a Disc Golf course here in Oroville, there’s 2 full 18 hole courses right next to each other! River Bend Park – can’t wait to play, maybe this afternoon or in the morning.

Oroville

Made it to Susan’s sister’s house here in Oroville – another beautiful property in the foothills. Supposed to be getting hot here again starting Wednesday. Star is having a blast playing with their Jack Russell Terrier, another family member came over last night with a cute Chihuahua. We will probably be here in this area for a week or two.

Camping

Decided to camp for just one night at New Hogan Reservoir (Army Corps of Engineers dam). Such a beautiful camping area – and we got the best spot in the campground, beautiful view of the lake – Star was in the water instantly and loving it. Rose, Michael and his sister Lynn all came up and rode bikes all over – then we had a great dinner. Only problem was that we had to bust out of there at 5:30am to make it to an 8am appointment at Elk Grove Ford!

Food

We have been eating well. The girls made up Chile Rellenos in Puff Pastry, Rose did some nice stuffed mushrooms and put some of those in the Puff Pastry as well. Last night we had Chicken Mole Tacos – yum!

New Hogan Reservoir

Played 27 holes at this great course this morning. Star is beat but had a lot of fun off the leash. Saw a few deer. Great views of the water.

Music

This is one of our favorite (well, my favorite – Susan seems to tolerate it) internet radio stations while we’re out on the road, very diverse playlists:
